The summer triathlon season kicks off with an energetic event, live music, and beer. And we got it all in before the rain came! The Zero Waste effort had its share of challenges, but at least we stayed dry, and had a solid diversion rate.
Well, that was a relief.
After the frenetic scramble of Oberun, it was great to recover with a simple, straightforward event where the Zero Waste effort went as planned.
The 2018 T-Rex Triathlon series kicks off with the Triceratops on a beautiful June evening. Last year we averaged over 95 percent landfill diversion over the three events. Would we be able to continue that level of performance?
The final race of the T-Rex series of sprint triathlons this year takes place on a perfect summer evening, and results in the best Zero Waste result of the three.

A famous long-extinct species was spotted everywhere at last week’s Triceratops Triathlon. But you know what’s hardly seen these days at an RF Events race? Garbage! Sending piles of event waste to a landfill is on its way to sharing the fate of the dinosaurs, although I doubt any future triathlons will be named after it.
